Where Students Choose To Be

Choice plays a large part in a student’s journey at Brentwood. Choice is a theme embedded in the philosophy underpinning our enrolment process, boarding culture, course options, and post-secondary opportunities—as well as daily life on campus.

Choosing to Attend

All students come to Brentwood because it is their choice. During the application process, our Admissions Team takes the time to understand the reasons a student wants to join our school, to ensure that it is the student’s choice to be here. This choice creates a culture of like-minded individuals who nurture a positive and respectful community.

Choice of Courses

Having a wide variety of options allows Brentonians to discover who they are and what they are passionate about.

There is no other time in a person’s life when they will have the opportunity to try so many different things in one place.

Students are encouraged to explore the many courses available in academics, arts, and athletics.

University Choice

Providing students with choices in their post-secondary endeavours is a fundamental aim at Brentwood. Our experienced University Counselling Team does extensive work with the students to help upcoming graduates understand how to best achieve their goals. In 2023, 70% of our graduates received an offer of admission from their first choice of university study.

Choosing Service

Leadership at Brentwood is about service to our community. We believe student leaders of the School should be humble, authentic, balanced, optimistic, and resilient. When students reach Grade 12, they decide how they are going to lead. This intentional, supported moment of choice empowers our graduating class to contribute to a community that they can be proud of for years to come.

I must say, I have the best job on Earth. Why? Because the people here at Brentwood treat each other like family. The students are vibrant and kind young people from all over the world who have chosen to come and live together for ten months of the year on a beautiful oceanfront campus. They have chosen to challenge themselves in a busy and varied tripartite schedule, not because they have to but because they want to.
