Midterm Trips

Brentwood offers three midterm break trips during the school year. These trips are intended for our international students and cover a wide range of activities that are designed to provide a West Coast experience. Formal sign-up for midterm trips takes place after students arrive on campus and information meetings will take place prior to the November, February, and May leave dates.

Fall Midterm - Vancouver, BC

Thursday, November 7 - Tuesday, November 12, 2024

This year, the Fall Midterm Trip will be spent exploring beautiful Vancouver, BC. 

Vancouver is world-renowned for eclectic shops, affordable shopping, and high-end designers—and our fun-filled itinerary will include shopping opportunities to locations like Pacific Centre, Robson Street, and Gastown, as well as group visits to the Vancouver Aquarium, Fly-Over Canada, Capilano Bridge, and more. I am excited to travel with you!

This trip includes all meals, admission fees, ferry fees, transportation, and accommodations.

Itinerary - November Midterm - Vancouver, BC

November 7 - 12, 2024

Pack light, as we won’t have much room for big suitcases in the vehicles we are taking with us. Please bring good walking shoes, clothing for warm days and chilly nights, swimsuit(s) and towel(s) for swimming. 

Itinerary updated Aug. 6'24 - the itinerary is tentative and subject to final confirmation closer to travel.

Day 1 (Thurs) - We will travel by hired motorcoach or Brentwood vehicles driven by chaperones from Mill Bay to the Swartz Bay or Departure Bay Ferry terminal and take the BC Ferry to the lower mainland. On arrival, we will depart for our hotel and check-in for 5 nights. In the evening we will enjoy bowling and dinner. 

Day 2 (Fri) - Today we're exploring Kitsilano Beach, HR MacMillan Space Centre & Planetarium, and Granville Island. Tonight we'll have dinner in the Granville Market before enjoying a show at TheatreSports Improv.  

Day 3 (Sat) - Our day will be spent exploring the Vancouver Aquarium, Robson Street, Gastown, and the Lookout Observatory. We will have dinner together before heading back to our hotel for the night. 

Day 4 (Sun) - Our day will start with experiencing the FlyOver Canada attractions, followed by time to explore and eat at the Lonsdale Quay Market and Shipyard. The afternoon will be spent at Capilano Bridge, followed by a group dinner and laser tag!

Day 5 (Mon) - Today we’ll spend time in Burnaby at Metrotown Mall! There we will enjoy shopping, a movie and an Escape Room! We’ll enjoy dinner before we return to the hotel for the night. 

Day 6 (Tues) - After we check-out of our hotel, we will spend the morning at the Britannia Mine Museum and afterwards take the ferry to the island and head back to the Brentwood campus.

Winter Midterm - Ski & Snowboard Trip

Thursday, February 6 - Tuesday, February 11, 2025

This year, the February Midterm Trip will be spent skiing/riding and exploring beautiful Big White, BC. 

Visiting this incredible ski-in, ski-out resort has become a tradition with our student community. Together we will spend 5 nights at a moderate hotel, enjoy good food, and have fun with group activities like tubing, ice skating, and more. I am excited to travel with you! 

This trip cost is inclusive of GST & PST, and includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, a 4-day lift pass, return airfare, transportation, 1x group ice skating, 1x group tubing, and 5 nights’ moderate accommodation with quad occupancy.

Spring Midterm - Parksville and Area

Thursday, May 15 - Tuesday, May 20, 2025

This year’s May Midterm Trip, we will explore, shop & play in central Vancouver Island—Nanaimo, Parksville & Coombs, BC. 

Together we will explore small towns, enjoy good food, and have fun with some group activities like whale watching, ziplining, go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, and more! Our accommodation will be within walking distance of the ocean, where we'll dip our toes into the waters of the famous Parksville Beach and maybe we’ll build a sandcastle together. I am excited to travel with you!

Friday, May 16, 2025

  • 10:30am - Meet Mrs. Eisnor at Crooks Hall loading bay, and together we will load a van and car (to be driven by the chaperones). 

  • 10:45am - Depart for Ladysmith, BC.

  • 11:30am - Arrive in Ladysmith. Time for exploring, shopping and lunch.

  • 12:40pm - Leave for WildPlay Park in Nanaimo.

  • 1:00pm - Arrive and check-in WildPlay.

  • 1:00pm - Axe throwing (1x5ppl & 1x4ppl). Waiver required; sent tonight to everyone's parents. Please have these completed by Wednesday. 

  • 2pm - Ziplining / Tree Top Adventure ~60-90min.

  • Depart for Nanaimo; stop for grocery shopping enroute. 

  • Stop at Woodgrove Centre. 

  • Stop at a grocery store to purchase breakfast items and snacks.

  • Arrive and check-in at hotel; 5 nights at a local hotel/resort. 

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday, May 17, 2025

  • Breakfast in your room with purchased items. 

  • Morning at leisure.

  • Shopping, lunch and exploring Parksville, BC. 

  • Group visit to Butterfly World and Hamilton Hobby Farm (if you have an allergy to pet dander or hay, please advise ASAP).

  • Mini-Golf & Bumper Cars.

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Overnight in Parksville, BC.

Sunday, May 18, 2025

  • Breakfast in your room with purchased items. 

  • Morning at leisure.

  • Shopping, lunch and exploring Coombs, BC, including Goats on the Roof! 

  • Group visit to the North Island Recovery Centre.

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Laser Tag.

  • Overnight in Parksville, BC.

Monday, May 19, 2025

  • Breakfast in your room with purchased items. 

  • Morning at leisure.

  • Drive to Cathedral Grove; explore the ancient forest along the boardwalk in chaperoned groups. 

  • Hike at Little Qualicum Falls; maybe we can find the hidden swimming pool for a dip!

  • Go-Karting.

  • Bowling and Dinner.

  • Overnight in Parksville, BC.

Tuesday, May 20, 2025

  • Breakfast in your room with purchased items. 

  • 10:30am - Check-out of the hotel; board coach.

  • 11am - Depart for Nanaimo, BC.

  • Woodgrove Centre for shopping, lunch & a movie.

  • Depart for Mill Bay, BC.

  • 5:30pm - Approximate arrival to Brentwood College School; Crooks Hall loading bay.

  • Say goodbye to Mrs. Eisnor; return to your Boarding House.
