Spring has finally arrived, bringing lovely weather as well as another title for the Varsity tennis team.

Our road to the Mid-Island Championship included two victories against our fierce rival, Shawnigan Lake School. Having competed against them a couple times during winter term training and in last week’s Biondo Tournament, we started the season full of confidence.

Brentwood hosted the first matchup last Tuesday and on a perfect day, sunny with no wind, the tennis players were able to compete at the highest level. Brentwood came out victorious thanks to strong performances by Amanda M, Andjela S, Georgia C, Conrad A, Paranat T, Rafay C and Raveena K.

Despite winning the home game, the team remained determined to secure another win. This approach proved to be successful as our athletes were able to focus and produce impressive points. We finished strong, defeating Shawnigan 8-3 with road wins recorded by Conrad A, Paranat T, Rafay C, Johanna H, Amanda M, Raveena K, Georgia C, Andjela S and Jasper BS, Santiago G, Nick M, Natalie L & Tamara F.

The latest victory secured another Mid-Island title for the Brentwood Varsity Tennis team. Next up is the ISA tournament and then the Island AA Championships where the team will not only be looking to defend its Island title, but also to secure a berth to provincials.  The tennis season is off to a terrific start.
