The Joys of Organic Farming with Caleb & Robin

Question. What's one of the quickest, healthiest, and most effective ways to cut agricultural greenhouse gasses?

Going once? Going twice?

Yes, you BEAT-Freaks (trademark pending) out there got it right, it is organic farming!

As the Environment Advocacy team learned, organic farming is not only a way to provide local communities with nutritious foods and save the environment, but it's also fun (believe it or not)!

Our heroic, good-looking, muscular and environmentally-conscious Environment Advocacy team learned loads about organic farming from my new best friend and favourite farmer, Caleb Laban and his wife, alumna Robin McDaniel (she's also pretty cool).

Caleb taught our team about the fruits and vegetables he and Robin grow and how they have been able to better their community by selling this produce, which, from first-hand experience, is terrific. Their farm houses many different vegetables and fruits, chickens and goats, two rambunctious kids, and the largest dog I've ever seen in my life.

After spending hours getting dirty (on the farm, of course), we managed to pick enough vegetables to last their family through the winter. We also got to take home plenty of onions, garlic and other vegetables (I, for one, made French onion soup for my fellow grade 12s in Whittall (recipe available upon request), and it was fantastic!.

Anyways, BEAT-Freaks (TM), be green and stay clean out there.
