This past Thursday the Senior Girls Soccer team played our second game of the pre-season against Francis Kelsey Secondary School. Both teams played a tough, physical, pressurized game leaving no boring moments for the players or spectators. Adrenaline pumped through our entire team as we knew we would have to push ourselves in order to win. With a corner giving us our first goal, we were up 1-0 and ready to maintain our lead. With Nairee P, Allard '18, scoring our second goal, we knew they would push back hard so we continued to battle. By halftime it was 2-1 and we knew we had to fight through the exhaustion and keep our pressure up. Still dominating a lot of the play with great sprints from Bryn C, Mackenzie '16 and Kaela S, Allard '16 we kept our lead until late in the second half when one of their forwards had a great shot that managed to get through tieing it up at 2-2. Pushing back hard, we tried to score one last goal before the game ended, but sadly the time ran out and we ended the game in a tie. Although it wasn’t a win on the scoreboard, we played our hearts out, dominated a lot of the play, and became a more cohesive unit. It was great preparation for our first league game on Tuesday against Shawnigan Lake School. See you then. Mollie MG, Mackenzie ‘15
