Senior Girls Claim ISA 4th
The Senior Girls’ Basketball team competed in the ISA Championships this past weekend. With a strong start, the girls opened their tournament play with an impressive win over Mulgrave from Vancouver, a previously known powerhouse. Commendable defensive efforts from Chidinma A and Avi S helped the girls dominate the game. In just their second game of the season, the girls battled against preseason A ranked #2 Mulgrave. The game was tightly contested throughout and tied with under three minutes left in the 4th quarter. The girls demonstrated poise late by inbounding the ball against pressure and hitting free throws to secure the 62-58 victory.
Even with a rough couple of games following the first, the girls managed to finish fourth in the tournament. With only a few senior veterans, the almost all-new team used the tournament to learn the new team dynamics and grow together before league play begins this week. Coach Warner is excited to see where the season takes them this year.
