Jr B Boys Basketball
This season’s edition of the Grade 9/Jr B Boys Basketball team was the shortest in recent memory - by physical stature. Their height, however, belied the strength of their fellowship as this group of 16 boys forged their way onward against taller opponents en route to a 22 win and 9 loss season record.
In the Jr B CVIAA league, the team finished 1st in league play, losing only one game, before capturing its second consecutive league title with a victory over SLS.
Tournament highlights included the Jr B team finishing 2nd in the Cowichan Valley Classic and the Grade 9 team finishing 4th at Tier II ISAs.
The Grade 9 team concluded their season as the best AA school at Grade 9 Islands, capturing 3rd place. Tournament highlights included a game-winning 3 point shot by Jayden L, Ellis ‘23 with 3 seconds left to defeat Wellington 45-44 in the opening game and a 40-39 overtime victory over SLS in the 3rd place game.
This is a special group of young men. I thank each of them for a tremendous basketball season.
Mr. Jordan Warner, Coach
