First 11 Field Hockey

The Brentwood First XI Field Hockey team was made up of a driven, talented, and relentless group of girls that were determined to show up and show down. Kicking off with the Friendship Cup Tournament, we faced some of Vancouver's toughest teams. Playing against this year's 3A champions, Handsworth, we were able to learn a lot of skills that helped us improve as a team and helped develop a rhythm for us to work with in order to defeat our rivals, Shawnigan.

Following the Friendship Cup, we played in three other tournaments before the Provincial Championships in November, which helped us create a chemistry that led us to finish top of the consolation bracket with convincing wins over JL Crowe, South Okanagan, and Southridge with beautiful goals from Carla J, Sophie M and a few others.

Our team's inspiring qualities allowed for an amazing final season for our seniors and a bright future for our juniors to continue the program's success in the coming years. The improvement from the beginning of the season to the end was immense and I couldn't be prouder of these girls.
