Brentwood went to the East Coast last week. With nothing but $40 a day, 62 Grade 12 Brentonians and 5 chaperones embarked on the annual Brentwood “Eastern Canadian University Tour”, the purpose of which is fairly self-explanatory. Over the course of the trip, 12 universities were visited, many containing Brentwood graduates from the past three years. Well respected institutions such as McMaster, Western, and Queens were visited, along with the highly anticipated Acadia. The trip provided insight to future graduates on what a school offers in terms of courses, mark cut-offs, and campus community, and, in my case, gave me a chance to eat HungryMan frozen dinners and watch NASCAR. Throughout the course of the journey, current Brentonians had the rare chance to meet up with former students, many of whom attended the universities we visited. Former students such as Thomas Sambell, Privett ‘14, Mack Sharpe, Hope ‘14, and Jason Hunter, Rogers ‘14 were met with open arms by current students. Reuniting with some old friends is certainly a major drawing point for the university tour, as it provides further insight on whether or not a university is of interest. The group was very impressed with Western in particular, with Queens and McMaster being well received as well.  The time spent outside of the universities was a welcome break from the constant travel and touring, especially in cities such as Montreal, Toronto and Halifax.  The tour was very impressive. On behalf of the students touring, I would like to thank all of the chaperones for sacrificing their breaks to come with us. In particular, Mr. Rodrigues deserves a thank you from everyone for the time spent organizing the trip.  Hayden L, Privett ‘15
