Brentwood’s Olympic Sendoff
Thursday evening, Brentwood’s triumvirate of London 2012 Olympians visited their alma mater, enjoyed a wholesome meal in Crooks Hall, spoke to a large group of students in the McNeil Centre, and received a banner, signed by students and staff, full to good wishes.
Dave Calder, ’96 and Scott Frandsen, ’98, Silver medalists both at Beijing 2008 and at this summer’s Lucerne Regatta, will be teaming up again in the pair. Malcolm Howard, ’01, Beijing Gold medalist, is once again in the middle of Canada’s 8+ which set a world record in Europe earlier this month. This is Dave’s 4th Olympic Games.
This is the 10th consecutive summer Olympics in which a Brentwood athlete has competed for Canada. No doubt the eyes of the Brentwood’s family will be glued to the television when these three take to the water in London.
