Brentwood Takes To The Ice!
Athletics at Brentwood are in full swing, which means that it’s time for Brentwood Hockey. The program has already been busy working hard in practices and even Saturday morning workouts. The first few practices have provided great chances to play with new players and to reconnect with returning skaters.
The program will see a lot of diversity this year along with some new faces. The program is front-lined by Head Coach Tom Shadlock, Assistant Coach Neil Robinson, Coach Mario Desandoli and new Coach RFA Adam Rodrigues. Together they have put an emphasis on doing the little things right before moving on to more specific game play. The varied level of skill allows for the newer skaters to learn from some of the veterans on the team. This collaboration has brought a lot of positivity and learning to the ice over the past few weeks.
After a heart-wrenching loss to Saint George’s in last season's Ross Cup spoiled the Varsity team’s perfect record, many of the boys have come back this year motivated and ready to play. Preseason games are only a week away and there is a buzz throughout the locker room as the team already has its sights set on a Ross Cup championship.
The program is going to continue its hard work after the Thanksgiving Break and will be more than ready to play in their first preseason game against Lake Cowichan.
