Beginner Band Rocks Out at the Regatta
Our Beginner Rock Band is piecing together their songs for the regatta concert on Friday, April 29th. The guitarists, Crawford C, Whittall ‘18, Nick P, Whittall ‘18 and Luis M, Privett ‘18 are the powerhouse for the band, and add a musical punch to the audience with our distinct sound.
Jeremy H, Rogers ‘19, Evan H, Ellis ‘18 and Valerie G, Mackenzie ‘19 carry the band’s groove by dominating the drum kit with their consistent rhythm and booming fills. Melodic holes are filled by Federico S, Whittall ‘19 and Claire K, Mackenzie ‘18 as their fast fingers dance swiftly on the keyboards.
The lower frequencies are tackled as well. Darryl C, Ellis ‘17 busily slaps away at his booming bass, creating invaluable rhythm and tone for the band. The vocalist, Luke A, Whittall ‘19, leads the band with his bold voice and excellent stage presence.
Last but certainly not least, our instructor and teacher, Mr. McGill, has helped us tremendously and he has stretched everyone’s musical ability throughout the year.
Our band’s setlist includes “TNT” by ACDC, “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon, “Interstate Love Song” by Stone Temple Pilots, “Fell in Love with a Girl” by The White Stripes and “Closing Time” by Semisonic
After our most recent rehearsal, Evan said with confidence, “We have definitely found our sound.”
We will be performing on the Regatta Stage from 1:15 to 1:35 down at the plaza on Friday. Prepare yourself for a great show!
